Jane Austen wrote "Vanity and pride are different things, though the words are often used synonymously. A person may be proud without being vain. Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves; vanity, to what we would have others think of us."
I had to share that quote because I'm EXPLODING WITH PRIDE!!!!! My 12 year old Caleb made this clock! He used a scroll saw at school (imagine the pressure I now face to have a scroll saw at home), created his design, wood-burned the details, picked the clock parts, sanded, clear-coated, drilled, doweled...my boy is a genius! He's a talented, disciplined, patient, information-sponge genius.
All I can say is that it's a good thing I have a healthy perspective on things or I might really become annoying.
